Man fighting for his life after crash with bus in Farnworth

It's understood he may have suffered a medical episode behind the wheel

Greater Manchester Police are investigating after a man had a suspected medical episode whilst driving his car before crashing into a stationary bus in Farnworth.

It happened on Higher Market Street on Saturday morning at around 9.40am.

He's been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

A number of bus passengers were treated at the scene after suffering minor injuries, none needed to be taken to hospital.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have dash cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage to come forward and assist their investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting log 1009 of 19/10/2024.
