easyjet emergency at Manchester Airport

A plane has made an emergency landing at Manchester Airport after reports of a techinal fault with its gears.

The easyjet flight diverted to Manchester minutes after taking off from Liverpool this morning, Thursday 02/06/16.

The plane dumped fuel in mid-air as it circled before landing, according to flight tracker websites.

The Captain of flight EZY7193 to Faro in Portugal landed the aircraft safely and al the passengers and crew were escorted into the teminal.

In a statement the airline said: "The aircraft landed safely and was met by the fire services in line with our procedures as precautionary measure only.

"The safety of its passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers guidelines.

"We would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused and are arranging for passengers to continue their journey on an alternate aircraft."
