Blackley Robbery E-fit

Published 24th Aug 2015

Detectives investigating a robbery in Blackley have released an Efit of the suspect. It happened at about 2.40pm on Wednesday 15th July when a 27-year-old woman was pushing her baby in the pram, just inside Boggart Hole Clough, near to the junction of Rochdale Road and Charlestown Road. A man riding a bicycle approached her and snatched the baby bag from the pram handlebars, which was also wrapped around the woman’s arm for safety. He pulled it with such force that it came away from the pram and her arm and he fled. The offender is described as white, of thin build, in his mid-20s, with blonde hair and was wearing a hoody with the hood up and a black and grey jacket. Police Constable Colin Fox of North Manchester division said: “The victim is really shook up by the incident, so much so that she is struggling to leave her home at the minute. “Fortunately, the pram stayed upright so the baby was not hurt. Numerous items were stolen from the bag, including a black and brown snakeskin leather purse and an iPhone. “The iPhone has a distinctive sticker on it that reads ‘AT & T’ and has a plastic pink and purple case with birds on it. The victim is particularly upset about the phone as it has irreplaceable, sentimental family photos on it. If you are offered an iPhone of similar description please get in touch. “I would urge you to take a close look at the Efit and if you recognise him from the image or the description please contact us as soon as possible.” Anyone with any information is asked to call the police on 0161 856 3925, 101, or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
