More arrests after pensioner beaten and robbed in Manchester
Alfiero Cetamore was attacked in his own home on Ashill Walk.
Police have arrested three more men in connection with the brutal assault and robbery of a 77-year-old man in his own home.
At around 4.40pm on Saturday the 27th of February, police were called to flats on Ashill Walk, Manchester, following reports that a man had been the victim of an assault.
When officers arrived it became clear that the victim, Alfiero Cetamore, had also been robbed.
The incident took place at around 4pm, when he let a man into the flats through the communal door.
Once inside, the offender assaulted Alfiero and left him injured on the floor as he ransacked the flat, stealing his mobile phone, wallet, car keys, three gold rings and a white and yellow gold ‘Bulgari’ bracelet inlaid with 12 diamonds.
Having stolen anything of value, the offender then drove off in the victim’s Toyota Corolla, which was later discovered crashed into a wall on Caythorpe Street in Moss Side.
Police initially arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and he was subsequently bailed until 2 April 2016.
Earlier this week a 29-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of robbery and he was subsequently bailed until 2 April 2016.
Last night, Wednesday 2 March 2016, officers executed a warrant at an address in Moss Side and arrested two men, aged 21 and 20, on suspicion of robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.
They remain in police custody for questioning.
