Arrest after Stockport Road double stabbing
Two men were injured on Friday
Detectives investigating a double stabbing in Manchester have made an arrest.
On Friday 25 April police responded to reports that two men had been stabbed on Stockport Road.
They were taken to hospital with serious injuries, but they are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening or changing.
Police say they've arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 assault following arrest attempts on Herle Drive, Wythenshawe.
He remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Macquiban from our Central Manchester division said: “This was a shocking attack which took place in broad daylight, in a busy area, subjecting our victims to serious injuries, but also placing members of the public at risk of harm.
“Fortunately, our victims injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing, but a violent incident of this nature could very well have had a different, tragic, outcome.
“Whilst we have a man in custody, our investigation remains ongoing, and I would urge anyone who has information comes forward and reports this to us.”
