Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury collision in Bury yesterday (Friday 26 January).

At around 5.08pm on Derby Road, a pedestrian collided with a car while trying to cross the carriageway.

The male pedestrian, aged 64, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital for treatment on his injuries, which are not immediately life-threatening or life-changing.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury. He was released under investigation last night.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has dash cam or CCTV, to come forward and assist their investigation.
