Another teen arrested over death of man punched in Bury town centre

A 19-year-old has been questioned and released on bail

Another 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the death of a man who was punched and fell to the ground in Bury.

35-year-old Piotr Ludwiczak died in hospital after being attacked in the town centre on Saturday 8 July.

A second teenager was detained by officers on Tuesday 11th July on suspicion of violent disorder. He has since been released on bail.

The arrest was made after Brook Marshall-Byrne, 19, from Prestwich, was charged with manslaughter and affray on July 11.

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Piotr’s family have been kept updated with the progress of this investigation and continue to be supported by officers, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said.

The force is also continuing to ask any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
