Stockport County Football Club is set to host an open-top bus parade to celebrate their League Two championship.

A huge celebration will be held in the town this afternoon to mark the team's first EFL title in 57 years and their advancement to League One next season.

The victory parade will offer fans a chance to join in the celebrations with the players, as the trophy makes its way through Stockport's streets.

Starting with a private civic ceremony at Stockport Town Hall, the team will then embark on the parade at 3pm, following a route from Edward Street across the A6, down Greek Street and Mercian Way, turning onto Hardcastle Road, and concluding at Edgeley Park around 3:40pm.

The parade route starts at the Town Hall and finishes at Edgeley Park

Following the parade, a trophy presentation is scheduled to take place inside Edgeley Park at approximately 4pm.

Fans are encouraged to book their place online for £2, a fee that supports the County Community Trust, to witness the champions presented on the pitch.

Initially, sales will be open for the Cheadle End, with the Together Stand available as needed.

The celebration will also feature the End of Season Awards for the 2023/24 season, hosted by Club President Steve Bellis, and is expected to conclude by 5:30pm.

The club expresses hope for a large turnout to share in this momentous occasion under the motto "Animo Et Fide," which stands for "With Courage and Faith."
