Teenager arrested after crashing stolen car into house in east Manchester
A second man is believed to have fled the scene following the crash
A teenager has been arrested by Greater Manchester Police after crashing a stolen car into a house.
Officers first became aware of the incident after a car was stolen on Butterton Drive in Abbey Hey in the east of Manchester on Saturday (January 25th).
The car was then seen driving erratically through the area before crashing into a house on Harrop Street just before 6:15am.
In the ensuing crash, it is believed that two men were inside the car when it collided into front of the house.
One man, aged 19, was found by officers and arrested on suspicion of burglary and several driving offences.
A second man was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the crash and is yet to be formally identified by police.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said that no-one was injured in the collision, but "significant" damage was done to the house.
Workers from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have also been called to the scene, along with other agencies to assess the damage.
