A 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after she was hit by a car in Manchester City Centre.

A 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after she was hit by a car in Manchester City Centre.

It happened as she crossed Cambridge Street near the Mancunian Way roundabout at about 02:45 on Sunday (17th September 2017).

The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving but has been released under investigation.

Police Constable Edward Lister of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“This woman has been left in an extremely serious condition in hospital and we have launched an investigation to establish exactly how this collision happened.

“While we have made an arrest, I am urging anyone who saw the collision, or who was around this area of the city at the time and has dash-cam footage, to get in touch.”
