Manchester-born singer Liam Gallagher has announced that the profits from his upcoming Manchester gig will be donated to help those affected by Monday's bombing.

On Monday night 22 people were killed and many more injured when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb just outside the Manchester Arena.

After the events of Monday night Liam tweeted this support for those affected by the tragedy saying, 'In total shock and absolutely devastated about what's gone down in MANCHESTER sending Love and Light to all the family's involved LG x'.

Earlier today Liam announced his first solo tour, starting next week, would include a homecoming gig at the O2 Ritz in Manchester as well as dates in London, Dublin and Glasgow.

With the tour announcement Liam said he would be donating the profits from the Manchester gig to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund which has been organised by Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross. The Emergency Fund has been set up to support those 'who have been injured or bereaved by the attack'.

In the hours and days that followed Monday's terror attack in Manchester after an Ariana Grande concert tributes came pouring in from celebrities across the world.

The announcement of Liam's tour coincides with the announcement of his debut solo single 'Wall of Glass' which is the first track from his forthcoming album 'As You Were'.
