Doctor Who first revealed Jodie's casting a year ago when the advert was played after the Wimbledon Men's Final, as the first female Doctor was unveiled to the world.

According to Metro.co.uk, the trailer was released to coincide with the show's panel at Comic-Con in San Diego as Jodie, Tosin and Mandip took questions along with new showrunner, Chris Chibnall, who is best known as the brains behind TV phenomenon Broadchurch.

The publication also report that Chris said the upcoming series will be full of "big emotional journeys," adding that there would not be any two-part episodes like there has been in past series.
