Last month, there was much excitement as the celebrities due to take part in next year's Dancing on Ice were revealed. We had TOWIE legend Gemma Collins, former EastEnders star Richard Blackwood, former Westlife star Brian McFadden and seasoned ballroom dancer James Jordan amongst others.

Then, last week the professionals due to take part in the series were revealed, including some familiar faces, with the likes of Matt Evers, Sylvain Longchambon, Brianne Delcourt and Mark Hanretty all returning! Alexandra Murphy, Brandee Malto and Hamish Gaman will also be returning after their debut series earlier this year.

Now, a couple of months before the next series is expected to start, two of the pairings have been revealed, as the celebrities begin their training regime. According to information released by ITV, Jane Danson and Sylvain Longchambon will join forces, whilst Saara Aalto and Hamish Gaman will be partnered up.

Taking to Twitter, confirming the exciting news, Hamish tweeted, '🎉 ⛸ EXCITING NEWS! ⛸ 🎉 I’d like to introduce you to my new @dancingonice partner... @saaraaalto Who else is excited for the new series? #DancingOnIce #saaraaalto'.

The former X Factor contestant previously told us about her involvement with the show, saying, "I'm super excited about this, I love new challenges and I'm very ambitious. I can be very competitive, but I mainly want to challenge myself. I'll be saying to myself 'Saara, you need to push yourself more!'

Describing her excitement to be on the show, Saara Aalto continued, "I am so ready for this and I can't wait to get on the ice."

In the coming days and weeks we can expect the other pairings to be announced, ahead of the training for the launch show in January.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet about the judging line-up, Olympic legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are expected to return, alongside Jason Gardiner and Diversity founder Ashley Banjo.

The actual return date for Dancing On Ice has yet to be confirmed, however, it has been confirmed to be in January 2019.
