Coronation Street may have begun to have slightly more light-hearted storylines recently - and things are definitely set to get funnier now that Norris Cole is returning - but there's one rather dramatic upcoming plot that is guaranteed to shock viewers.

And long-time Corrie fans won't be hugely surprised to hear that it's going to be at the hands of Tracy Barlow. Apparently, her 14-year-old daughter Amy McDonald - fathered by Steve McDonald - is set to fall PREGNANT.

Obviously, Tracy isn't over the moon about her daughter's situation, and reports are now suggested that she'll go on a murderous rampage to KILL her daughter's baby daddy.

According to OK! Online, Tracy - played by Kate Ford - will threaten to kill the mystery man, making a dark comment about taking his life after discovering her daughter is pregnant and forcing Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, into having an abortion.

After a rather furious reaction from her parents, Amy will apparently run to the arms of her grandmother, Liz McDonald, for advice.

According to the publication, a TV source revealed that Amy will be seen "sobbing her heart out", and will go to Liz to help. Steve will then find a pregnancy kit, tell Tracy about it and they will both "lose their rag", with Tracy saying she "wants to kill the baby’s father."

They added, "They demand an abortion and Amy agrees but changes her mind at the 11th hour."

Of course, show bosses have not confirmed anything about the storyline, but new boss Iain MacLeod has previously spoken out about a huge New Year's storyline for Amy - so this could be what's in store for young Amy.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
