The devastating fires in California have caused filming to stop
Filming of the second season of Netflix's hit show 13 Reasons Why has come to a dramatic halt due to the devastating Californian wildfires.
The show, with Selena Gomez at the helm as executive producer, was in production for its highly-anticipated second series but has been forced to take a break in wake of the fires that have completely devastated the region.
Tragically sources are stating that 23 people have been confirmed dead and more than 200 are currently missing in the area.
On Wednesday gusts of wind blew between 20 and 40 mph and conditions and conditions were still extremely dry, with low humidity and no rain. Today's forecast is for similar conditions.
More than 20,000 people had been ordered to evacuate with authorities encouraging those in neighbouring areas to pack bags with documents and medicines in case they had to flee the flames quickly.
The fires have put a stop to filming in Vallejo and, according to Deadline, filming has been put on hiatus today with the hope the normal schedule will resume on Sunday 15th October once the fires are contained.
Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay Jensen in the show, tweeted of his sadness as filming came to an abrupt halt. He wrote, 'We film 13 Reasons Why in many of the areas in NorCal affected by these devastating fires. Sending love and thoughts to everyone involved.'
Devin Druid, who plays Tyler Down, echoed Dylan's thoughts. He said, 'The NorCal/Bay Area has been my home for almost a year while filming @13ReasonsWhy. My heart goes out to all affected by these awful fires.'
