The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest took place in Portugal on Saturday night, and whilst the UK had some hope of doing well with SuRie, things didn't quite go to plan during her performance.

As SuRie took to the stage to belt out her hit 'Storm', half way through the track a man made his way onto the stage and grabbed the microphone out of SuRie's hands, trying to make a statement to the millions of viewers who were tuned in.

Despite being a true professional and carrying on brilliantly with her performance, SuRie was understandably left a little shaken by the incident. Although Eurovision bosses did give the UK the chance to perform again, SuRie turned it down after feeling she'd done the track justice during the first performance.

Now, just days after the incident, SuRie is back in the UK and joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa. Revealing she has suffered some nasty bruises from the incident, SuRie said, "There are a couple of bruises from where I was holding the mic but Iā€™m okay. My shoulder where he came in as well."

Although the moment looked incredibly scary, SuRie revealed she didn't have 'time to feel fear'. She told the hosts, "There wasnā€™t any time to feel fear. He was suddenly there. Security were on him as quick as he was on me. He got the mic for a few seconds that was out of my hands, but the song was still going, the backing singers were still singing, the crowd was still chanting so I just turned upstage for a moment, but I was still cheering and clapping with the crowd."

She then added, "I turned back and I saw the mic on the floor and I was like 'Thatā€™s mine Iā€™ll just finish the song.'"

Watch SuRie's interview below:

After carrying on with her performance, many Eurovision fans were quick to praise the singer with many expressing how 'proud' they were of SuRie.

Despite this, like in previous years, the UK failed to gain votes from both the public and the Eurovison jury. After the votes came in from around the world, the UK finished third from bottom.
