A woman's died in a flat fire in Haringey.

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to Springfield Avenue at 06:33am.

They're tackling a blaze in a first floor five-roomed flat within a semi-detached house.

The fire has caused significant damage to the first floor flat and the roof.

An aerial appliance is being used to gain access to the roof and tackle the fire from above.

Residents in the adjacent property were advised to leave by the Brigade as a precaution.

Firefighters from Hornsey, Holloway, Finchley and Tottenham fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
