A man has been charged with trespassing on a protected site after he was arrested near Buckingham Palace.

It happened in the Royal Mews area adjacent to the palace.

Police at Buckingham Palace were alerted in the early hours of Saturday, 16th September, that a person was climbing the wall and entering the Royal Mews.

25 year old Awad Rovalino, of no fixed abode, has also been charged with attempted theft from a motor vehicle during the same incident.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, 18 September.
