Tottenham have fallen at the final hurdle in Carabao Cup after losing to Manchester City 1-0.

The last time they won silverware was 13 years ago, winning the League Cup in 2008.

8000 people were allowed into Wembley Stadium to watch the game – the first time fans have been allocated tickets to see their own clubs play since lockdown started in March 2020.

Both teams were allocated 2000 seats for supporters at Wembley, the other 4000 were made up of local residents and key workers.

Fans were required to provide proof of a negative test before entering Wembley, and they must take another test within 5 days after the match.

It’s part of a pilot scheme to monitor the transmission of Covid-19 to start allowing spectators at outdoor events.

It’s been a busy week in football with the fallout of the Super League and the departure of José Mourinho on Monday.

This game was only Ryan Mason’s second game in charge as interim head coach of Spurs.
