Teenager charged with murder of 17 year old in Hackney

A teenager will appear in court charged with a murder in Hackney.

The 17-year-old boy will appear in custody at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 21 February charged with murder. He was arrested by detectives on Monday, 19 February.

On Saturday, February 17th, police were called to Hackney Road, just before 11pm.

17-year-old Nathan Bawuah was found injured and died at the scene, near to the junction with Cremer Road.

Formal identification hasn't taken place yet.

The Met say Nathan’s family has been informed and continue to receive support from specialist officers.
