Storm Eunice: Woman dies after tree falls on car in London

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a woman has died after a tree fell on a car in Haringey.

Officers were called shortly after 4pm on Friday (18 February) to reports of a tree having fallen on a car in Muswell Hill Road near the junction with South Close in N6.

Police were joined by staff from the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.

In a statement the Met said: "The passenger in the car – a woman aged in her 30s - was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers believe they know the woman’s identity and her family have been informed. They will be supported by specialist officers."

The car driver – a man aged in his 30s - has been taken to hospital and his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
