Murder investigation launched in Tottenham after death of teenager

The 17-year-old was found with gunshot wounds on Thursday morning

A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager died, following a shooting in Tottenham.

17-year-old Tyler McDermott died yesterday afternoon (14/04) after the incident in the early hours of Thursday (13/04).

Police were called to the scene on Norman Road around 04.20 hrs on Thursday, and found the teenager with a life-threatening gunshot injury.

He was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Scotland Yard say it's "vital" officers speak with a group, who are believed to have been in the area at the time.

There'll now be an increased police presence nearby, with detectives from the Specialist Crime Command investigating.

No arrests have been made yet.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: "It is vital that we hear from anyone who was in the area of the shooting, and who heard or saw anything suspicious.

"We know that there was a large group of people there at the time.

"Please do the right thing and come forward. We are waiting to speak with you."
