Murder investigation launched after man dies in east London car stabbing

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Newham.

Police were called soon after 10pm on Saturday night to reports that a man had been stabbed inside a car at the junction of Victoria Avenue and Grangewood Street, in East Ham.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

A man, aged in his 20s, was found with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene. The police say inquiries are under way to trace and inform his family. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

A man, aged in his 40s, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
