A serving Met Police officer has been sacked without notice after allegedly assaulting a woman.

PC Wesley Griffith, who was attached to the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, was found to have committed gross misconduct at a hearing yesterday.

It is alleged he was controlling and coercive towards a woman he knew in February 2022 and that he assaulted her during an argument.

Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah, who leads the Roads and Transport Policing Command said:

"We must give the communities of London, a Police service that it deserves, and anyone that fails to meet that standard, cannot possibly remain in our organisation."
