Man armed with knife arrested in Westminster

A man confronted two police officers at Horse Guards before he was detained

An investigation has been launched following an incident at Horse Guards Parade in Westminster on Monday morning.

A man, who was armed with a knife, confronted two Ministry of Defence Police officers just before 9 o'clock this morning (Monday 18th April).

Officers tasered the man, who was then restrained.

There've been no reports of any injuries.

A 29 year old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon and remains in custody at a central London police station.

The incident is not being treated as terror-related.
