A man has been handed an eight year prison sentence following an attack on a man outside Burnt Oak Underground Station last October.

20 year old Gabriel Silvera will also serve four years on licence, after admitting to manslaughter at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

46 year old year old Dragos Carabineanu, who was from Burnt Oak, was seriously injured on Watling Road in Edgware on October 27 last year.

He later died in hospital on November 1.

Silvera was arrested five days later on suspicion of murder. Two others were also arrested at the time and were released without charge.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, of the Metropolitan Police, said:

“Nothing can bring Dragos back to his loved ones, however, I was pleased that Silvera’s guilty plea spared them the experience of a trial, where they would have once again heard the details of the incident that took Dragos from them.

"Our thoughts are with them.”
