Man dies following flat fire in east London

A man has died following a flat fire in east London

Crews were called out to Cornwall Street in Shadwell just before 3am, where half of a three-roomed flat was damaged by the fire

Fifteen people left the flat before firefighters arrived. One man was rescued from a bedroom by firefighters. He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews where he later died.

At it's peak 35 firefighters were in attendance.

Investigations are underway into the cause of the blaze
