Man charged with murder after being extradited from Sweden

A man has been charged with murder - after being extradited from Sweden following an incident last October.

Police were called to reports of a fight in Leytonstone, where a 27 year old died at the scene.

Sabajet Shuti has been charged over the murder of Zeqja Lumturi.

In relation to a second victim, he has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm as well as violent disorder and possession of a knife following the incident in 2022.

On the 16th October 2022, officers were called to reports of a fight on Church Lane, E11.

Police attended to the incident, and were joined by a team from the London Ambulance Service.

When they arrived, they found two injured men, who were both in their 20s.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, 27-year-old Zegia died at the scene.

Shuti appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 24 October.
