Man charged following death of elderly man found injured in east London

The 79 year old victim died in hospital.

A man has been charged following the death of a man in Newham.

Philip Fracezek, 20, of Tower Hamlets Road E7 appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 17 May charged with attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 14 June.

It's after an incident at an address in Plaistow Road, E15 on Wednesday, 15 May.

A 79-year-old man was found suffering injuries. He was taken to hospital and has since sadly died.

His next of kin have been identified and are being supported by specialist officers.

A Metropolitan police spokesperson said: "Given the victim sadly died after the initial charges were imposed, we will work closely with the CPS to have the charge amended as appropriate."
