A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a baby was found dead at an address in the Euston area of London.

Police were called to an address in Central London due to welfare concerns.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said ''Shortly after 14:00hrs on Monday, 8 July, police were called to Taviton Street, WC1, to reports of a concern for welfare

''Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene. A baby was sadly found dead.

''Enquiries continue into the circumstances.

''A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken into custody''.

The age of the baby has not yet been released.
