A man has admitted killing a fellow occupant of supported residential accommodation.

Rajinder Pall, 45, was accused over the death of 60-year-old John Hallissey on January 2 2023.

Police were called at about 11.50pm to reports a man had been assaulted at the facility in Lansbury Drive, Hayes, west London.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination found the cause was compression of the neck.

On Tuesday, Pall appeared at the Old Bailey by video link from Broadmoor hospital for a plea hearing.

He denied murder but pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Hallissey.

He also admitted being in breach of a suspended sentence for harassment and common assault.

Prosecutor Jacqueline Carey KC said the pleas were acceptable to the Crown and asked for the murder charge to lie on file.
