Londoners looking for love calling for more bank holidays, says research
It's to make up for lost time during the pandemic
Londoners looking for love are calling for more bank holidays this year - to make up for lost time during the pandemic.
That's according to research done by Bumble - which says a dating boom is underway this weekend - with people making the most of the extra day off.
Almost half say they'd ditch family and friends in favour of going on a date this month too.
Bumble reckons over half of singletons have lined up dates this month to make the most of bars and restaurants reopening outdoors.
The weekend tops the list of best days to date (70%), with two bank holidays to enjoy in May, a third (36%) of adults are utilising the extra days off to squeeze in even more in-person dates.
A quarter of single adults surveyed say they would meet up with potential love interests after just one week of talking. Whilst a further 30% said they would wait for two weeks, 17% would wait three weeks and only 15% would wait for longer than a month.
British singles are taking control and making up for lost time, with 70% admitting they would go on up to four dates a week in order to explore all their options.
With coroanvirus restrictions easing, a quarter of Brits Bumble spoke to think that more bank holidays are needed to give them enough time to socialise and go on dates, while another 25% think longer opening hours at bars and restaurants is the answer, and one in five are demanding half days on a Friday to make up for lost time.
