London's Victoria station has been evacuated

Network Rail tell us the site has been cleared as a result of the fire alarm being set off with emergency services in attendance.

We're being told disruption will continue until at least 3.30pm

A spokesperson for Network Rail said:

“A fire alarm was activated at London Victoria at around 1:15pm this afternoon, which meant that for a short time the station needed to be evacuated, and trains were diverted to other London stations. The alarm was quickly investigated by London Fire Brigade, and the station reopened.

“Trains are now running again into Victoria, but there may be delays and short notice changes while we work to get trains back on time. We expect disruption to continue until around 15:30 – and would ask that customers please check before they travel.”

The advice is:

Please check before you travel this afternoon and allow extra time if you need to. You will likely need to use an alternative route to complete your journey.

Tickets will be accepted on the following for no extra cost:

Southern and Thameslink services via any reasonable route, including to / from London Bridge and London Blackfriars.

South Western Railway services between London Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Epsom and Dorking.

London Underground via any reasonable route including between London Terminals.

London Buses between East Croydon and London Victoria
