There's a fresh warning about the risk of grass fires spreading after 70 firefighters tackled a blaze in north London.
It happened at Rammey Marsh in Enfield on Sunday afternoon - where around two hectares of grassland were alight.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "We've been seeing a long, dry spell with high temperatures so the grass in London is tinderbox dry and the smallest of sparks can start a blaze which could cause devastation.
"We are asking Londoners to help us protect the city we all love by doing everything you can to prevent further grass fires. Please don’t barbecue in open spaces or balconies, throw your rubbish away safely and put your cigarettes out properly.”
A scorching weekend in the capital
London's New Wimbledon theatre cancelled a performance of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory the Musical on Sunday due to sweltering temperatures.
It tweeted: "Due to outside temperatures in excess of 30C and its impact on working conditions on stage, we have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel today's performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical."
Met Office meteorologist Amy Bokota said: "Stay hydrated and make sure you are wearing sun protection as we have high UV levels.
"Make sure you drink lots of fluid and stay out of the sun.
"Make sure you are not putting any disposable barbecues on any grassland area."
