Fifth man charged over fatal shooting in Bethnal Green

A fifth man will appear in court charged with the murder of Joshua McLean in Tower Hamlets.

38 year old Shanoor Ahmed of Russia Lane, E2 will appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 14 October charged with murder.

Ahmed was arrested on Saturday, 12 October.

The investigation, led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, was launched after Joshua, 31, was fatally shot on Tuesday, 6 August in Weavers Fields, Wilmot Street, E2.

Four people have previously appeared in court charged with Joshua’s murder.

They are:

36 year old Nefur Miah, of Redmans Road E1.

37 year old Muhammed Ismail Ali, of Marlborough Road RM7.

30 year old Simeon Oliver-Stewart, of Clevedon Close N16.

22 year old Muhammad Abbas of Bradford Road, Kirklees.

All four defendants will appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 17 December.
