Eight people have been arrested after Extinction Rebellion protesters took to the streets in London.

The environmental activists blocked roads in the capital as they demand for the government to end investment in fossil fuels.

It's the start of two weeks of demonstrations.

The campaign group's promising to share their concerns on the capital's streets, until the government stops all new investment in fossil fuels.

Yesterday, ten people were arrested as activists scaled the Guildhall in the capital - spraying it with red paint.

As of 6pm tonight, protesters showed no sign of leaving the streets of the Capital, with many getting out chairs, tents and attaching themselves to concrete and vehicles.
