An inquest has heard three people from Essex were killed when their car crashed into a stationary van in east London.

Sachin Kalia, 19, Davina Kaur Ruprah, 24, and Kiranjeet Sagoo, 36 were travelling westbound on the A13 when they hit a stationary van in Rainham shortly after 22:00 on July 15.

The collision, that happened ten days ago, involved their vehicle and a van which had been in an earlier accident. Police had been called to the earlier collision involving the van but the second crash happened before officers arrived at the scene.

The inquest at Walthamstow Coroner's Court was told the causes of death were listed as multiple injuries and a road traffic collision.

A coroner's opened and adjourned proceedings until February next year.
