Lightning bolt sets fire to Enfield house

A house in Enfield has been set on fire by a bolt of lightning
Around 40 officers were called to the address on Westpole Avenue, where the roof was ablaze.
Nobody was hurt.
Station Commander Paul Eastland, who was at the scene, said:
“Crews arrived to find a fully developed fire in the roof of a house, which had also spread to a small area of an adjoining property.
“Crews worked incredibly hard using one of our turntable ladders to remove tiles from the roof of the building and access the fire to bring it under control.
"Fires caused by lightning are uncommon but unfortunately can cause quite extensive damage."
The Brigade was called at 1806 and the fire was under control by 1934. Fire crews from Southgate, Barnet, Edmonton and Finchley fire stations attended the scene.
