Singer Chris Brown has been released on bail, after being charged with a serious assault.

Four days ago, a judge decided he should remain in custody until June, but that's now changed. It means the American musician can continue with his scheduled international tour this year, including in the UK in June and July.

The 36 year old must pay a £5 million security fee to the court, which is a financial guarantee to ensure a defendant returns to court and may be forfeited if they breach bail conditions.

The R-and-B star hasn't yet been asked to enter a plea in relation to an alleged attack in February 2023.

He did not appear in Southwark Crown Court for the bail application hearing.
