Boy charged with murder after death of 17-year-old

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Chima Osuji in Chingford.

The boy was arrested on Wednesday and is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court on today (Friday 14th April).

Two other teenage boys have also been arrested on suspicion of murder, one of which has been bailed pending further enquiries until July, and the other remains in custody.

The boy who has been charged can't be named for legal reasons.

Police were called at 21.21 on Monday evening (10th April) to reports of a stabbing on Longshaw Road, despite efforts from members of the public and emergency services, Chima died at the scene.
