A woman has been sentenced to 16 years for the murder of Dylan Bacon in Old Swan last year.

On 14 March 2022 police were called to Rock Grove and found Dylan Bacon in the street with serious injuries.

Officers administered CPR but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem found the cause of death as stab wound to the chest.

Police arrested and charged Lea Rose Cheng, 27 years, of Rock Grove with his murder.

She was found guilty after a trial.

Today, Friday 8th September, she was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court to 16 years in prison.

Dave Brunskill, Head of the Homicide Support Unit said: “Nobody can begin to understand the impact of Dylan’s sudden death has had on his family and friends.

“His death demonstrates the devastation and long-lasting impact that acts of violence has not just on the victim, but families, friends, and those who witnessed the events of that night, including those who work in emergency services, where Dylan died in the street with serious stab wounds.

“We are committed to making sure people are spared the pain that Dylan’s family have endured. And although Dylan was stabbed inside Cheng’s home, we will continue our work with our partners to ensure we deter offenders and educate people about the dangers of using knives as weapons.

"I hope this successful prosecution and sentencing today will hopefully provide some comfort to Dylan’s family, who continue to suffer and grieve from her actions that night.”
