Woman taken to hospital after falling from M62 bridge

A woman's been taken to hospital after falling from a bridge on the M62 in Knowsley.

Emergency services were called to J5 near Roby at around 8.20am.

Merseyside Police have confirmed their attendance and that a woman in her 60s has been taken to hospital for assessment to her injuries.

The force says the slip roads at junction 5 leading on to the M62 in both directions are currently closed. Officers are asking motorists to avoid the area and find an alternative route while the incident was being dealt with.
