Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by van in Waterloo

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a van in Waterloo, Sefton.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Brunswick Parade and Great Georges Road at around 7:20am on Tuesday 7 May.

The pedestrian, a female, was taken to hospital for an assessment of her injuries.

The van driver stayed at the scene to assist with police enquiries, the Merseyside force said.

Road closures were in place in the area throughout Tuesday morning and motorists were urged to avoid the area where possible.
