Officers were called to an address on Bridge Street at 7pm on Saturday to reports of concerns for the safety of a 44 year-old female.
The 44 year old woman was taken to hospital after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest and remains in a critical condition.
A 47 year-old male arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A search of the property on Bridge Street is ongoing.
