Woman arrested after Huyton shooting

Held on suspicion of possessing a firearm

Merseyside Police have arrested a woman after shots were fired in Huyton on Sunday 13 June.

Police were called to Reeds Road at around 7.10pm to a report of damage to a residential property. Patrols attended and found damage consistent with a shooting.

No injuries have been reported.

Following enquiries in the area, a 39-year-old woman from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Section 1 firearm. She was taken into custody for questioning and has been released under investigation.

Detective Inspector John Fitzgerald said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation after shots were fired at a house in Huyton on Sunday.

“Firing a weapon in the street is extremely reckless and thankfully no one was injured, although residents were left understandably shocked.

“The investigation remains ongoing, and we are keen to hear from anyone with information. If you saw or heard any suspicious behaviour in the area, or have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know. Any information could prove vital to the investigation and assist us in finding who is responsible so we can bring them to justice.”
