Wirral Woman Labels Hospital As 'Insenstive' After Miscarriage
A woman from Wirral has slammed a hospital as insensitive after they handed her baby's remains to her in a box in a plastic bag
27 year old model and DJ Sallie Axel was 12 weeks pregnant when she suffered a misscarriage in July.
When she fell ill in Manchester she was taken to St Mary's where she recieved care.
It's there she claims she was "handed her unborn baby in a box in a plastic bag"
"I just couldn't believe my expirience. I've never been so shocked. I've only just started coming to terms with it"
She said: "It was still my child, I finished the first trimester, this wasn't just a shock I was pregnant"
"I will never have a happy pregancy, I will always be on eggshells because it won't be a happy expirience for me now"
"The one of the worst things a woman can go through is losing a child"
In a statement St Mary's Hospital in Manchester said
“Although we are unable to comment on individual cases due to patient confidentiality, we are very proud of our services to support women who have undergone a miscarriage and are really very sorry if this has not been the case on this occasion"
“Unfortunately the family have not contacted us directly, and we would encourage them to make contact with our Patient Advice and Liaison Service so we can address any concerns on 0161 276 8686.”
