Merseyside Police have executed warrants at addresses across Knowsley today in response to community concerns about firearms and drug dealing.

Officers searched three properties in Stockbridge Village and Huyton. An open land search was also carried out in Stockbridge Village.

Two revolvers together with a quantity of ammunition were recovered during the open land search. The weapons have been sent away for forensic examination. A cannabis farm with approximately 48 plants was also discovered in one of the properties.

Neighbourhood Inspector Phil Mullally said: “Today’s activity is all about targeting those individuals whose criminality is having a detrimental impact on the law-abiding majority of the community in Knowsley.

“People's lives are being made a misery by not only drug dealing activity in the area where they live, but also the threats, intimidation and serious violence that accompany this kind of activity.

“We want to show the people of this area that we take their concerns very seriously and are committed to keeping communities safe by continuing to take forceful action against the people who are involved in serious criminality and bringing them to justice.

“It is vital for our investigations that we continue to receive information from the majority of people in these communities whose lives are being blighted by the actions of a minority.

“I want to reassure people that any information that is forthcoming will be acted upon.”
