Vow to keep Liverpool moving while Lime Street closes for two months
The final stage of upgrade works to the station are due to start on Saturday
There's a vow that Liverpool will keep running as Lime Street get set to close for the next two months from tomorrow.
The second stage of uprgade works, the biggest since the 19th century is due to start on Saturday until the end of July. The result will mean more platforms, more trains to cope with the predicted rise in passengers.
It will include full and partial closure of lines into Liverpool Lime Street.
Some long distance services will start and end at Liverpool South Parkway.
Marcus Barnes from Network Rail said: "Liverpool is open for business, we've put robust plans in place. We're going to keep people on trains when we can."
