The family of a dad-of-two who died following a crash in Liverpool last week has paid an emotional tribute to him.

At around 11.10pm on Wednesday 19 July, emergency services were called to Northern Perimeter Road, Netherton, to reports of a collision involving a red Vauxhall Astra and an orange Honda motorbike.

Vincent Lawrence, who was driving the motorbike, was treated by paramedics and pronounced dead at the scene.

In a short tribute, his family said:

"In loving memory of Vincent (Vinny) tragically taken too soon

"Sadly missed by his father, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces and his two beautiful sons.

"Love you forever."

Two men, aged 25 and 22 from Netherton, were arrested following the collision. The 25-year-old man has been released on bail pending further inquiries and the 22-year-old man has been released with no further action.

Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from Merseyside Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our investigation is still at an early stage and I would welcome anyone who believes that they may have witnessed either of the vehicles driving on Northern Perimeter Road prior to the collision to contact our team. We would also be grateful if people who have dashcam CCTV fitted to their vehicles, who were driving anywhere on Northern Perimeter Road between 11.05pm and 11.15pm on 19th July, to get in touch.

"Similarly, we would like to speak with anyone who has a CCTV system or doorbell camera fitted on their property, who lives along Northern Perimeter Road between Copy Lane and Buckley Hill Lane. They may have captured footage that could prove vital in establishing the full circumstances of this collision.

"If people are unsure if their system has captured anything of significance, please make contact and we can make arrangements to view and recover the footage if needs be. Can I ask that anyone who thinks they may have any information that could assist this investigation, please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit directly on (0151) 777 5747, email SCIU@merseyside.police.uk, or DM @MerPolCC on Twitter quoting reference 23000655515."
