Two boys stabbed in Everton

Two boys have been taken to hospital after they were stabbed on Saturday afternoon (24 August).

Merseyside Police say they've launched an investigation after two boys, a 15 year old and a 14 year old were stabbed on Saturday.

Its after reports of an altercation with two other men.

Officers were called to Rydal Street, Liverpool at around 4pm.

It was reported that a group of unknown people had thrown objects at a property in the area which had caused considerable damage. An altercation then took place, resulting in a 15 year old boy being stabbed in his stomach, and also sustaining a head injury, and a 14 year old boy was stabbed in his arm and abdomen.

The victims were taken to hospital for treatment where the 14 year old underwent surgery and the 15 year old had a blood transfusion. Both victims are being monitored by hospital staff and are said to be in a stable condition. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Two men, a 24 and 25 year old who were believed to be involved in the incident, were located on Stonehall Street and arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding a short time after.

They were taken to custody and have both been released on conditional bail.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
